Cookie Policy

ArcMedium.io only sets cookies from optional third-party analytics tools, and only after you accept. This page explains exactly what we store, why, and what your rights are.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your browser or device. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, or gather analytics data.

2. Do We Use Cookies?

Only with your consent, and you choose per purpose. The banner offers three options: decline everything, allow analytics only, or allow both analytics and advertising.

Analytics loads Google Analytics 4. Advertising loads the LinkedIn Insight Tag. Choosing analytics only means LinkedIn never loads and sets nothing.

Declining, or leaving the banner unanswered, means no cookies are set at all. Our own self-hosted analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics never set cookies, with or without consent.

3. What We Do Store (localStorage)

To remember your display preferences and consent choice within a single browser, we use browser localStorage — not cookies. localStorage data never leaves your device unless you explicitly consent to analytics (see section 5).

We store the following values:

— arcm-theme: your chosen colour scheme (dark or light mode).

— arcm-lang: your chosen language (English or Dutch).

— arcm-consent-v2: your consent choice per category (analytics, marketing).

These values are purely functional or consent-related. They can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services on this website:

— Google Fonts (Inter typeface): loaded via Next.js's built-in font optimisation, which downloads and self-hosts the font files at build time. No requests are made to Google's servers when you visit our site. Your IP address is not shared with Google.

— Cloudflare Web Analytics (always on): cookieless traffic measurement built into our hosting's edge network. Sets no cookies and stores no personal data — always active regardless of your consent choice.

— Google Analytics 4 (only if you accept analytics): sets cookies including _ga and _ga_<container-id> to measure site traffic. Loaded only after consent.

— LinkedIn Insight Tag (only if you accept analytics): sets cookies including bcookie, li_sugr, UserMatchHistory, AnalyticsSyncHistory, and lidc to measure campaign performance and enable LinkedIn ad reporting. Loaded only after consent.

We do not embed social media widgets, YouTube videos, Google Maps, advertising networks, or any other third-party service beyond those listed above.

5. Analytics & Tracking

We run a self-hosted analytics system and Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site, and the LinkedIn Insight Tag to measure how our campaigns perform. The first two run only if you allow analytics; LinkedIn runs only if you also allow advertising. They are separate choices in the banner and you can change either at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer.

Our self-hosted analytics record: the page visited, your country (derived from a Cloudflare header — your IP is never stored), device type (mobile, tablet, or desktop), browser language, colour scheme preference, and the referring URL if one exists. This data lives in our own database on our own server in the EU and is never shared with third parties.

Google Analytics 4 and LinkedIn Insight Tag are operated by Google and LinkedIn under their own privacy policies and receive standard analytics/advertising signals (page views, device/browser data, and — for LinkedIn — that you visited from a LinkedIn-referred session) once you accept.

Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR — your explicit consent for all cookie-setting analytics.

6. Contact

You can reach us by email or phone, or by leaving your details in the contact funnel on this site. What we do with those details — what we store, why, for how long, and who else processes it — is set out in our Privacy Policy. The funnel does not depend on cookies and is unaffected by your consent choice.

7. Your Rights

You can withdraw your consent at any time, and withdrawing is as easy as giving it: use the cookie settings link in the footer of any page to reopen the banner and change your choice. Analytics stops immediately, and the cookies Google and LinkedIn set are cleared.

Withdrawing does not affect anything processed while your consent was still in place.

For any other data rights (access, erasure, portability), email us at [email protected].

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this cookie policy if we introduce new features. The latest version is always available on this page. Last updated: August 2026.
